When a child is struggling with a challenge, you can offer them to choose one of the categories and fill out a card. Or you can offer to fill out a card after they have calmed down and you'd like them to revisit the situation without "officially talking about it".  Or, you could decide on recurring times where you sit and make up cards according to things that happened that week.

By creating their own cards, they get to observe their own behavior and learn from their experiences, improve their reactions and implement what they learned in future situations.
